Aiming High for Disabled Children is a new plan from the Government to make sure disabled children and their parents get the support they need to live ordinary family lives. All local areas in England have received extra money to increase support and services for disabled children and young people.

Clasper Towers
Gateshead's Adventure Playground
As part of the consultation with children, families and communities for the Gateshead Play Strategy 2007-2010 adventurous outdoor play opportunities were identified as a priority in Gateshead.
Gateshead’s Aiming High for Disabled Children programme has contributed funds towards the adventure playground as well as the Big Lottery Fund, Youth Capital fund and many more.
Clasper Towers is an open access park and will be open to the public from 9am until 9pm, it will provide freeplay, adventurous and challenging play to the general public free of charge.
The playground includes a fire pit, climbing boulders, sensory path, willow sculpture tunnel, basket swing and more! The playground is at Tyne View Centre, Rose Street, Gateshead, NE8 2LS.p>
